Water Damage Restoration Process

The water damage restoration process involves several steps to effectively remove any remaining water and ensure the structure is clean and does not impose health risks.

Step 1 Inspection - Advanced Mold Professionals will complete a thorough inspection of the property and the extent of water damage based on the classes of water damage which outlines how much of the property was damaged. We will also need to identify the category of water damage, which involves the source of the water. This is usually a range from clean water from recent broken pipes to unsanitary water from sources like sewage or standing water that has begun growing mold and bacteria.

Step 2 Water Removal - Using pumps and vacuums, this should begin as soon as possible to prevent further growth of bacteria.

Step 3 Drying - After all standing water has been removed, drying and dehumidification is crucial to remove any moisture that can cause mold to form. The drying out process can take several days to weeks to complete, depending on the extent of the damage.

Step 4 Cleaning – Everything that will be kept should be cleaned and sanitized. Anything with fabric like carpet, clothing or curtains will undergo an antimicrobial treatment.

Step 5 Restoration - This involves replacing materials like drywall, insulation and any home or structural repairs. We work with licensed contractors to perform any structural restoration.
